Peer Review: The Purple Magic Edition
Every good lab needs data. Ours just happens to come from people eating açaí bowls in Gràcia and telling Google about it afterward.
We talk a big game about "research" and "controlled studies" here at Coco Lab 172, but every so often it's worth checking our results against an independent panel: real guests, real reviews, zero lab coats involved.
The Subject: The Purple Magic
The açaí bowl. Banana, strawberry, granola, coconut, with an optional peanut butter add-on for anyone who believes in going further. It's our only açaí item on the menu, and honestly, when the base formula already works, why complicate it.
Peer Review, Round One
One guest, Paula López Lindes, filed her report directly on our Google listing: the açaí bowl was delicious, the service was wonderful, the place was very clean. Three separate variables, three positive outcomes. In lab terms, that's what we'd call a strong correlation.
Meanwhile, Over at The Liquid Energy Station
The matcha side of the lab has been getting its own attention. Gaia Grasso reported that everything was very nice and the matcha was made fresh on the spot, no shortcuts, no pre-mixed batches sitting around waiting to lose their edge. Self-described matcha connoisseur Giuliana Buonanno also stopped by for a matcha with passion fruit, adding some expert credibility to the file. When a connoisseur signs off, we take note.
And it's not just the matcha getting flagged as good. Multiple reviewers, including Nicoletta Angeli, have independently described the drinks here as very refreshing. Independent confirmation from unrelated sources is, again, exactly what a proper study is built on.
Building the Case for Pairing
Here's where the data gets interesting. We already know the açaí bowl holds up on its own. We already know the matcha lineup holds up on its own. Put the two bodies of evidence together and the hypothesis writes itself: açaí and matcha were always going to work well together.
Our team has been running informal trials on this front for a while now, and the results are conclusive enough to publish. The Purple Magic pairs especially well with an Iced Matcha, a Mango Matcha, or an Iced Latte if you're leaning more coffee than matcha that day. All three have been tested, approved, and are ready for public consumption, quite literally.
If you want to go a step further into flavor-logic territory, a Coconut Milk Matcha or a Strawberry Matcha both echo ingredients already sitting in the bowl. We haven't run the full trial on those two yet, but the early signs are promising.
Conclusion
The lab's open, the açaí's cold, and the results are in. Come see for yourself, daily, 9:00 to 20:30, at Carrer Gran de Gràcia, 172. Bring the whole crew, paws included.
